Did you love our Limitless Horizon concert? Well, get ready because our 2022-23 season is going to be even bigger as we celebrate 35 years of cutting-edge music making, of championing diversity, and of boldly leading the field of classical music.
Music Director Mei-Ann Chen has this to say about the
2022 -2023 SUBSCRIPTION SEASON:
“This season promises to be especially exciting as we look towards what is next in our future. New collaborations, new initiatives, and a continued focus on Chicago Sinfonietta’s unparalleled role in the industry of championing African American and female composers is just part of the celebration! Audiences will enjoy new works by Anna Clyne, Tania Leon, Molly Joyce, and a Sinfonietta commissioned world premiere by Sinfonietta’s Artist-in-Residence Kathryn Bostic. The season also features works by African American composers Valerie Coleman, Nkeiru Okoye, and Carlos Simon. Long-time local collaborators violinist Rachel Barton Pine and Apostolic Church of God Sanctuary Choir return to the Sinfonietta subscription series stage, while Israeli cellist Inbal Segev and Chicago-based saxophonist Julian Velasco make their respective Sinfonietta debuts. There is something for everyone this season.“
Also, starting this June, an exciting new addition to our performance offerings: Sinfonietta In Your Neighborhood. Enjoy special events including concerts and conversations throughout Chicagoland with partners including St. Peter’s Church, Ravinia, and Chicago History Museum.
